Vacancies: A total of 70 positions are up for grabs for NCC Men, with 63 in the General Category and 7 reserved for Wards of Battle Casualties. For NCC Women, there are 6 vacancies, including 5 General Category and 1 for Wards of Battle Casualties.
Training and Probation: Successful applicants will embark on a rigorous 49-week pre-commission training program at the Officers Training Academy in Chennai. Upon completion, they will be placed on probation for six months, during which they will be awarded a Post Graduate Diploma in Defence Management and Strategic Studies by the University of Madras.
Physical Requirements: And here's where it gets intense! Male candidates must demonstrate exceptional physical fitness by completing a 2.4 km run in 10 minutes 30 seconds, along with a series of push-ups, pull-ups, sit-ups, squats, lunges, and swimming. Female candidates have slightly different requirements, including a 2.4 km run in 13 minutes and a basic swimming skills test.
Important Conditions: Candidates should note that marriage during training is not permitted and could result in discharge and financial penalties. The government covers the training costs, but candidates who withdraw may need to refund a portion of these expenses.
