Kerry Katona shares health update after being rushed to hospital 'screaming in pain'
Kerry Katona has revealed she's seeking private healthcare after a recent hospital visit left her in severe pain. The former Atomic Kitten star, 45, was diagnosed with colitis, a long-term condition causing inflammation of the colon and rectum. Her experience began with intense stomach pains, prompting an ambulance ride and a stay in the hospital, where she spent half her time in a corridor bed due to the hospital's capacity.
In her latest column, Katona describes the ordeal, stating, 'I was in so much pain I was screaming, so the paramedics had to give me morphine there and then.' She was eventually diagnosed with colitis and prescribed morphine and bland food upon discharge. However, Katona's journey doesn't end there. She's now determined to explore private healthcare options to uncover the root cause of her condition, despite her positive experiences with the NHS.
Katona also shared a video on Instagram, revealing her hospital stay. She said, 'Hi guys, it's 2.10 in the morning, and I've been in the hospital since yesterday morning.' The video showed an intravenous cannula in her arm and her bed near the nurses' station in the hospital corridor. She added, 'It's very full, so unfortunately, I'm on a bed in the hall.'
Following her hospital stay, Katona opened up about the experience, writing, 'I was taken into hospital in an ambulance at the end of the week. I was in so much pain I was screaming, so the paramedics had to give me morphine there and then.' She also mentioned the hospital's capacity issues, stating, 'I was in a bed in the hallway for a day and a night before I was given a room because of how full the hospital was.'
Despite her challenging hospital experience, Katona remains optimistic about her health journey, expressing her determination to find answers and improve her well-being.
