The Super League disciplinary panel has handed out some tough verdicts, with one player banned and eight others charged for various infractions. The panel had a busy week, reviewing incidents from three sin-bins and more. However, it was Huddersfield Giants' Sam Hewitt who received the most severe punishment, banned for one match after a late hit against Wakefield Trinity. Hull FC forward Liam Knight was charged twice, for head contact and a dangerous throw/lift, but escaped a ban, with his total penalty points now standing at 4.5. Adam Keighran, who was also sin-binned, got away with three penalty points and a fine. Toulouse Olympique's Rob Butler received a Grade C head contact charge and five penalty points, while Joe Stimson, Lewis Dodd, Tyson Smoothy, and Seth Nikotemo were all given Grade A charges. The disciplinary panel's verdicts are as follows: Lewis Dodd (Catalans Dragons) received one penalty point for head contact, Rob Butler (Toulouse Olympique) received a fine for head contact, Joe Stimson (Castleford Tigers) received one penalty point for late contact, Liam Knight (Hull FC) received three penalty points for head contact and a fine for a dangerous throw/lift, Adam Keighran (Wigan Warriors) received three penalty points for late contact, Sam Hewitt (Huddersfield Giants) received five penalty points for late contact and was banned for one match, and Tyson Smoothy (Wakefield Trinity) and Seth Nikotemo (Wakefield Trinity) received no further action for late contact.
