Now, the THST is claiming that the official written record of this crucial discussion, the meeting minutes, has been altered.
But here's where it gets controversial... The THST alleges that the club omitted a whole section from the minutes. This section apparently detailed fan worries about the risk of relegation from the Premier League and the subsequent loss of belief that had previously been generated, perhaps from a past European triumph like winning the Europa League. Imagine the unease of fans, feeling the sting of potential relegation, only to see those concerns seemingly erased from the official record.
Furthermore, the group claims that a statement acknowledging the club's appreciation for the THST's input – specifically, a line stating they "welcomed the input of THST" – was also conspicuously absent from the published minutes. The THST has emphasized the importance of transparency, stating, "As a democratic supporters' organisation elected to represent fans' views, we believe it is vital that supporters can see what issues are being raised with the club, how those issues are being discussed and what responses are being given." They further explained that publishing a complete record is essential for accountability and allows fans to understand how the Trust is effectively representing them. Transparency, they argue, is fundamental to their role and their interactions with the club.
